All of its North American facilities are now pow- ered by 100% carbon-free elec- tricity. This achievement solidifies Davis-Standard's commitment to environmental stewardship and underscores its leadership in sus- tainable manufacturing practices within the industry. By transitioning to 100% carbon- free electricity in North America, Davis-Standard has taken a decisive step towards reducing its carbon footprint and mitigating climate change impacts. This milestone aligns with the company's overarch- ing sustainability goals and demon- strates its dedication to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. Davis-Standard achieved this milestone by purchasing Green-e certified Renewable Energy Cer - tificates (RECs) for its Pawcatuck, CT, and Fulton, NY, facilities. These RECs guarantee that the electricity used in these locations is generated from renewable sources, such as wind or solar power, further solidi- fying Davis-Standard's commitment to sustainable energy practices. Additionally, Davis-Standard's Greater Toronto Area operations utilize electricity sourced from hy- droelectric sources, further contrib- uting to the company's carbon-free energy usage. This accomplishment comple- ments Davis-Standard's existing ISO 14001-certified facilities and its Maillefer brand's EcoVadis Silver Award, highlighting the company's dedication to sustainability and en- vironmental responsibility across its operations. Davis-Standard, LLC https://davis-standard.com/ sustainability/ Global Footprint Grows  Extreme Coatings, a leading global supplier of wear-resistant coating solutions for the plastics and rubber industries, has expanded its global footprint and invested in key personnel appointments tomeet the growing demands of its business in North America, Europe, and Asia. At the NPE2024 exhibition, the compa- ny marked the 26th anniversary of its U.S. operation and announced the appointment of a new Director of Sales in North America. The anniversary also coincides with expansions over the last 15 years in India and the last few years in Korea and Austria, where these centers all manufacture and sell wear-resistant coatings in respec- tive and surrounding markets. The U.S. operation has grown steadily over the years as demand has in- creased in injection molding and extrusion feedscrews (single and twin-screw), and continuous mixing rotors. The international operations have been added to meet the global demands of plastics processors for the automotive, packaging, and profile markets. Extreme Coatings has also an- nounced the appointment of indus- try veteran Steve Jackson as Direc- tor of Sales-North America for the Plastics and Rubber Division. Jack- son brings 40 years of experience in plastics processing, serving in senior management, operations, engineer- ing, purchasing, logistics, and design roles. He brings extensive knowl- edge in extrusion, injection molding, rubber, and hot melt processing. “We’re thrilled that Steve has joined the team and we expect valu- able contributions as the company enters a high-growth phase,” said Scott Caplan, Executive Vice Presi- dent for Extreme Coatings. “His vast technical and business knowledge will help us further boost our indus- try presence and penetrate new ap- plications.” Extreme Coatings’ global foot- print includes its newest manufac- turing facility in Austria which is fully operational for the production of high-performance coatings for feedscrews in injection molding and extrusion applications. The company has established a European subsidiary, Extreme Coat- ings GmbH, and formed a strategic partnership with a leading Austrian engineering services company to op- erate the facility. The new 15,000-sq- ft plant is already meeting the application needs of a range of Eu- ropean customers including plastic part manufacturers for the automo- tive, packaging, and profile markets. The increased capacity in Europe will shorten lead times, reduce ship- ping costs, and establish local sup- ply for Extreme Coatings’ growing customer base throughout Europe, according to Caplan. “We’ve expanded our global footprint so we can break the lo- gistical logjam that exists today and ensure stable supply to all key Euro- pean regions,” said Caplan.
