For decades, Agr has been known for providing this industry with high-resolution pressure and volume expansion testing. The latest release, the PPT4000 Packaging Pressure Tester, is the next generation in their legacy of pressure testing equipment. The all-new system not only tests PET containers for pressure and expansion but simulates the filling process and offers the versatility to perform in multiple modes including burst pressure, fill ramp, custom and shelf-life modes.

The various test modes of the PPT4000 allow operators to perform industry defined standard tests or create customized tests to meet specific needs. Burst Test and Fill-Ramp Test are two standard test packages included with each PPT4000. The Burst Test quickly pressurizes the container to a pressure setpoint defined by the operator, and for a set hold time, if desired. Meanwhile, the Fill-Ramp mode provides a controlled pressure ramp to meet the bottle pressure setpoint and then holds that point for 13 seconds to simulate a PET bottle filling operation. The custom test mode offers the capability of creating profiles to meet unique requirements. The optional M-RULE® shelf-life mode is designed to provide material utilization and predicted shelf-life data.

The PPT4000™ incorporates key features that simplify the testing process and enhance the repeatability of test results such as variable pressure programmability, a universal bottle holder, water temperature monitoring and control limit specifications. Detailed results, including 13-second expansion percentage, peak pressure and volume expansion along with pertinent test data, are presented on-screen with pressure and expansion graphs, giving the operator a comprehensive test report. Additional features include an easy-to-maintain benchtop design with a large touchscreen display, stainless steel shell, stainless steel and aluminum internal structural components, automatic door lock, fully sealed test chamber, excellent diagnostics with maintenance triggers and simple calibration utilities.
