CMG Granulators Puts Regrind Quality at the Centre of its Ecomondo 2026 Programme

CMG Granulators EV 92-160  Granulator with Regrind Evac System 1

The EV 92-220 will be a key focus of CMG’s participation in Rimini, highlighting the relationship between material quality, productivity and efficient granulation.

CMG will exhibit in Hall A1, Stand 301, on 3–6 November 2026.

CMG Granulators will place regrind quality at the centre of its participation in Ecomondo 2026. Under the message “Not all regrind is the same”, the company will focus on how granulation technology influences the characteristics of recovered plastics and the efficiency of subsequent processing stages.
The programme will feature the EV 92-220, part of CMG’s Evolution Series, designed for demanding, large-scale post-consumer plastics recycling applications.

Recycling quality starts with regrind quality

Throughput is a key consideration when selecting a granulator. Uniform particle size and the presence of dust and fines are equally relevant to assessing the material it produces.

Uniform regrind with low levels of fines can help support more stable downstream processing and improve the quality of the recycled output. CMG’s stand concept, “Same plastic. Different results”, highlights the role of granulation technology in achieving these characteristics.

The company’s approach brings together five priorities: homogeneous regrind, reduced dust and fines, energy efficiency, production continuity and easier maintenance.

EV 92-220: high-capacity granulation for post-consumer plastics

CMG’s technical data lists a throughput range of 4,000 to 6,500 kg/h for the EV 92-220. The EV92 series is designed for both wet and dry processing of post-consumer plastics.
Its tangential cutting configuration and open rotor are designed to eliminate the material dragging effect associated with conventional systems and reduce the generation of dust and microparticles. The cutting chamber design supports consistent regrind dimensions, linking size reduction to the requirements of subsequent recycling operations.

Energy performance is another focus. CMG reports energy use reductions of up to 50% for the EV92 series compared with traditional granulators. This manufacturer-stated figure forms part of a broader approach that considers energy demand alongside throughput and output quality.

Maintenance access supports operational continuity

The EV92 series incorporates features intended to simplify cleaning and maintenance. Full hopper lifting provides access to the cutting chamber from all four sides, while a segmented, reversible screen facilitates servicing. Wear-resistant Hardox components in the cutting chamber are designed for demanding operating conditions.
These features address the practical requirements of recycling plants, where access for routine work and the time needed to complete interventions are important considerations.

At Ecomondo, visitors will be able to discuss their materials, output requirements and processing challenges with the CMG team. The company’s message is that regrind quality should be a central criterion in evaluating granulation technology and its contribution to the overall recycling process.
