The goal of the partnership is to combine their respective strengths in plastics recycling and compounding to develop high-performance, integrat- ed solutions for the ever-increasing demands of the circular economy. The collaboration comes at exactly the right time: with the new EU Pack- aging and Packaging Waste Regu- lation (PPWR) coming into effect in August 2026, quality requirements for plastic packaging will rise signi cant - ly. From mandatory recycled content and extended producer responsibil- ity to material restrictions, the entire plastics value chain will be affected. Recycling must become more ef - cient, precise, and sustainable – this is precisely where the cooperation be- tween NGR and Leistritz comes in.
