Extrusion International 5-2025-USA

34 Extrusion International 5/2025 К 2025 tem – via three horizontally mounted screws – enables a high throughput of PET and rigid plastics, making it ideal for large-scale recycling operations. The SMS series is optimized for a wide range of materials and ideal for the size reduction of standard appli- cations in the recycling industry, as well as special processing needs – for example, heavy lumps, tough bers, thin lms, or substantial amounts of material. At the Recycling Pavilion: Hydrocyclone Stage – Integrating Precision Separation At Coperion and Herbold’s Recy- cling Pavilion in the Open Area a Her- bold Hydrocyclone Separation Stage, a key component designed to deliver precise material separation through centrifugal forces, can be seen togeth- er with a Coperion ZSK FilCo ltration compounder. Herbold’s hydrocyclone stage enhances the puri cation of plastics during recycling, extending equipment lifespan and improving product quality. The Hydrocyclone system, featur- ing a robust density separation, ac- commodates various application needs, providing additional washing and ef cient impurity removal. The system includes capabilities for sepa- rating residual contaminants such as sand, glass, or metals using heavy medium cyclone technology and high-turbulence wash- ing. The system includes also a friction washer which is capable to remove paper and other ber con - taminants. System Solution for PET Recycling Together, the Hydrocy- clone Stage and the ZSK FilCo l - tration compounder are exemplary exhibits that demonstrate how inte- grated Herbold and Coperion pro- cess modules produce high-quality recyclates. The ZSK FilCo recycling extruder system allows ltration and compounding in a single produc- tion step, and works in tandem with the Hydrocyclone Stage to deliver a complete, streamlined system for post-consumer recyclate (PCR) or any highly contaminated polymer repro- cessing. This combination ensures the highest levels of purity and ef- ciency, meeting the stringent end product quality standards. Additionally, visitors can nd Co - perion’s comprehensive compound- ing solutions in Hall 14, Booth B19. At Booth 9B34 in Hall 9, the focus will be on Herbold Meckesheim’s technologies for mechanical processing of plastics waste. On display will be the new T 150-300 Mechanical Dryer and the SMS 80-200 Granulator. In the Open Area, Pavilion FG/CE07, visitors can witness the seamless interplay of all Coperion recy- cling technologies. On view will be a Herbold Meckesheim Hydrocyclone Stage, the ZSK FilCo ltration compounder, the ZS-B MEGAfeed side feeder, a Coperion K-Tron K3- V200 vibratory feeder, an S60 single screw feeder and the MechaTron® at bottom feeder. Also on display will be a mobile deodorization unit for reliably removing unpleas- ant odors from recyclates. In addition to plastics recycling, Coperion specializes in plastic compounding technologies. These core competencies will be on display at Booth 14B19 in Hall 14. High performance using ZSK FilCo with ZS-B MEGAfeed In the Open Area, Pavilion FG/CE07, Coperion will exhibit its new ZSK FilCo ltration compounder which enables re - cyclate ltering and subsequent compounding in one step. In comparison to two-step production lines, the ZSK FilCo handles the product very gently and provides higher qual- ity at signi cantly reduced energy consumption when recy - cling post-consumer waste and other highly contaminated polymers.
