Hexcel was exhibiting at ISPO in Munich last week. The prominent American composite supplier could not miss the largest trade fair in Europe for sports and related matters.
HexPly® prepreg |
The company presented lightweight materials including HexPly® M78.1 fast-curing prepreg, HiMax™ engineered multiaxial reinforcements, and also one of the latest additions to Hexcel's product range – Polyspeed® pultruded components. This promising brand entered Hexcel's portfolio after Structil, a French composite manufacturer was acquired last autumn from its previous owners: Safran Ceramics and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.
Pultrusion is used with a wide range of materials, mostly carbon fibers and glass to produce several types of flat, profiled and round sections, such as tubes and rods. Unidirectional and orientated pultruded parts are suitable for producing walking and ski poles, yachting components, archery equipment as well as some other sports and leisure applications with many of them being exhibited in Munich by different companies.
